What is Cashmere World? Cashmere World is a vertically-integrated business platform for international cashmere trade. It is a high-standard, annual meeting place for business, catalysing fashion trends and technology innovation, as well as promoting the unique qualities that make cashmere one of the world旧 most loved luxury materials. Cashmere is a premium material, sought after by consumers worldwide for its lightweight softness, warmth and durability. Today it is seamlessly intertwined with the world of fashion, offering sophisticated options in a range of grades for both high-end and high-street markets. Its mark of prestige has nonetheless been preserved. China: where the world of cashmere converges 95% of the world旧 pure cashmere supply and 70% of its finished products comes from China. Thanks to its access to natural resources and sophisticated manufacturing capabilities, China is the indisputable country of choice to host Cashmere World. The fair is a global event that promotes the productive and sustainable development of the cashmere industry. Tracing the history of Cashmere World This year, the world旧 leading international cashmere trade fair unveiled a brand new name: Cashmere World. After a successful first 2 editions (then known as China Cashmere Fair), the renaming reflects the international importance of the premium cashmere market, as well as a new partnership between CFNA and the professional fair organisers UBM, which operates 110 international event annually. The inaugural cashmere event in 2007 attracted 78 exhibitors including many leading cashmere brands and companies such as Snow-Lotus, Viction and Pearl, whose collections were presented in spacious stands as well as in a fashion show. Fair grounds totaled 7000 sqm, covering the full spectrum of cashmere-related sectors from cashmere yarn, machinery, chemicals, lab and testing services, to finished cashmere apparel and home accessories. From November 1 - 4, the four-day fair drew in 6150 visitors worldwide, including Italy, France, USA, Japan and China. The second edition of the fair again took place in Beijing from 12-15 November 2008, reaching over 5000 sqm in size. Despite the global economic crisis at the time, over 40 leading brands and 5000 visitors participated.
