Malaysia has lived up to the theme of 声quarium of the World?after two consecutive successful presentation of Aquafair Malaysia in 2006 & 2008, the largest specialized ornamental fish exhibition and competition in South East Asia, making it the best marketing platform for fish producers, exporters and aquarium accessories.
Riding high on its success in 2008, Aquafair Malaysia 2010 is set to take the stage covering more than 5,000 sq. meters of exhibition space occupying two halls with more than 150 exhibitors participating including representations from 18 countries. Trade buyers is expected to exceed 1,600 and public visitors to be more than 16,000. The 4 day long event is expected to draw in exhibitors, producers, traders and visitors within and outside Malaysia.
The world market potential for ornamental fish is US$20 billion and Malaysia has set the stage to capture the global world market. The high impact economy of ornamental fish breeding favors Malaysia due to its geographical location in the equatorial zone and its entrepreneurship. The government aspires to achieve an annual output of 800 million fish in the industry by 2010 and export to EU market is expected to increase from RM82 million to RM200 million by 2010. Malaysia is forging ahead to be the world number one producer of ornamental fish.
